Frequently Asked Questions

  • What type of photography sessions do you offer?

I offer two main countryside photography experiences:

The Classic Collection – A 2-hour session at one location, includes a pre-shoot consultation, guidance throughout, and five beautifully edited digital images.

The Complete Collection – A full-day experience with up to three locations, unlimited creative support, and a stunning 16″ framed artwork included.

Each session is relaxed, personal, and designed to capture your story in a natural, outdoor setting.

  • What should I wear for the photography experience?

I recommend wearing neutral tones, earthy colours, or soft pastels—these shades tend to photograph beautifully and blend naturally with the countryside backdrop. Think warm creams, soft greens, dusty blues, or muted browns. These colours won’t distract from the scenery or your expressions, and they help create a timeless feel.

Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel like you. Whether that’s a floaty dress, a cosy knit, or a favourite pair of jeans—feeling comfortable and confident will shine through.

Also, don’t forget comfortable shoes! We may be walking through long grass, muddy tracks, or uneven ground, so practical footwear is a must—especially if we’re heading off the beaten path for the perfect shot. (Feel free to bring a second pair of prettier shoes to slip on for close-up shots!)

  • Do you help choose the location?

Yes, absolutely! I have a carefully curated list of stunning countryside locations that I know photograph beautifully. Each spot has its own unique charm and works wonderfully in natural light.

That said, I’m always excited to discover new places. If you have private land, a family farm, or a special location that means something to you, I’d be delighted to come to you. Often, the most meaningful photos are captured in places that hold personal memories or emotional connection.

If you're not sure where to shoot, don’t worry—I’ll guide you through options that suit the look and feel you’re after, whether that’s golden-hour glow in an open field or something a bit more tucked-away and atmospheric.

  • What happens if the weather is bad on our shoot day?

Due to all of my sessions take place outdoors, I keep a close eye on the weather in the lead-up to your shoot. I want you to have the best possible experience—and the most beautiful results—so if the forecast shows heavy rain, strong winds, or particularly poor conditions, I’ll get in touch to talk through options.

Rescheduling is always flexible and free of charge if the weather isn’t on our side. I’ll usually reach out the day before and again on the morning of your session to assess things together and decide whether to go ahead or find a new date that works for you.

Sometimes a little cloud or drizzle can add atmosphere—but we’ll only proceed if you're comfortable and the conditions are still safe and enjoyable.

  • We’ve never had professional photos taken—will you help us pose?

Yes, absolutely—100%. In fact, the vast majority of my clients aren’t models or used to being in front of a camera—they’re real people, couples, and families who simply want to capture a special moment in their lives.

If you're feeling a bit unsure or camera-shy, please know that’s completely normal—and I’ve got you. During your session, I’ll gently guide you with natural prompts and relaxed direction to help you feel at ease. We’ll keep things light, unforced, and easygoing—no stiff poses or awkward smiles.

My goal isn’t to make you look perfect—it’s to make you feel comfortable enough that your true personality, connection, and emotion come through naturally. Whether you’re laughing, cuddling your dog, holding hands, or simply taking in the view, I’ll be there to capture those beautifully real, in-between moments that tell your story best.

  • How far do you travel for sessions?

I’m proudly based in the heart of West Sussex, surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. I regularly travel across the South East and beyond to capture stories in stunning rural settings—whether it’s a golden field in Hampshire, a woodland path in Surrey, or a coastal farm in East Sussex.

Travel within a 50-mile radius of my location is included in all sessions at no extra charge. If you’re a little further afield, that’s absolutely fine too—I'm always happy to travel! For longer distances, a small additional fee may apply to cover time and travel costs, but I’ll always be upfront and fair about any expenses.

If you're unsure whether your location is included, just drop me a message—I'm more than happy to check and work out the best plan for your shoot.

  • How far in advance should we book?

My calendar tends to fill up quickly—especially during the popular spring and autumn months, when the countryside is at its most beautiful and the light is just perfect. To make sure you get a date that suits you best, I recommend booking your session at least 2–3 months in advance.

That said, I completely understand that sometimes things come up last-minute—whether it's a spontaneous idea, a gift, or a short window of availability. If you're hoping for something sooner, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’ll always do my best to accommodate you, and occasionally I have unexpected gaps or cancellations that might just work out.

If you have a specific date in mind—like a birthday, anniversary, or a special season—it's never too early to start the conversation.

  • What happens after the shoot?

After your session, I carefully review and individually edit each image to reflect the true beauty, emotion, and atmosphere of the day. I don’t batch-process—every photo is thoughtfully refined creating a collection that feels authentic, polished, and timeless.

Once your gallery is ready—within 30 days—we’ll arrange a private viewing and design appointment. This is a relaxed and enjoyable time where we’ll go through your images together, and:

    1. Choose your favourite photographs
    2. Explore options for prints, handcrafted albums, or fine art wall pieces
    3. Receive guidance on layout, framing, and sizing to suit your home and style

Whether you’re after digital files, meaningful gifts, or artwork to display in your home, this appointment helps turn your images into something you can truly enjoy every day—not just keep on a screen.

  • Do you offer prints or framed artwork?

Yes, I do! I work with trusted UK labs to offer a beautiful range of archival-quality products designed to showcase and preserve your images for years to come.

    Options include:

Handcrafted frames made from FSC-certified wood with museum-grade glass—elegant and durable

Folio print collections featuring mounted prints in sustainable cotton presentation cases

Digital keepsakes—your favourite images on a USB presented in a bespoke keepsake box

I’ll guide you through all the options so you can choose the best way to enjoy and display your photographs in your home.
